The Management and Information Systems (MIS) Advisory Board at Mississippi State University is a group of industry professionals, alumni, and experts who collaborate with the university’s Department of Management and Information Systems. Their primary role is to provide guidance, insights, and feedback to ensure that the department’s curriculum and programs align with industry standards and trends.

● Provide technical management and leadership to establish best practices for delivering high quality along with scalable solutions for IT infrastructure.● Serve as the liaison between the IT Operations team and the business to address concerns and prioritizebacklogs, including resolution of frequently changing request prioritization.● Manage and track project delivery from requirements review to deployment.● Define and monitor key performance indicators while providing the professional presentation of KPIs, metricsand reports.● Manages and participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and prioritiesfor the IT Operations team.● Minimize overall downtime of critical IT systems in the factory by developing and implementing proactivemeasures to replace failed equipment, backup software programs, document key support processes, andtraining of factory support staff.● Manage frequently changing priorities, while maintaining a continuous delivery of services and support.● Implement and adhere to corporate standard policies and procedures.● Work closely with local and corporate IT to meet operational system strategies.● Ensure software/hardware installations and updates are installed and tested to meet manufacturing and testing initiatives.● Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, risks and vulnerabilities that affect local operations● Manage assets and organization of spare computers and components, including use ofapproved applications.● Manage service suppliers and sub-contractors including quality and the negotiation of service level agreements.● Facilitate Change Management of services and solutions.● Ensures that all service and response targets, for both internal and external SLA/OLA, are understood and achieved with an efficient use of resources.● Manage IT budget and expenses through coordination between local accounting, upper management, and corporate IT.

• Supervise direct reports to ensure correct configurations, management and troubleshooting measures are being implemented for PC infrastructure; including hardware and software.• Implement, manage, and troubleshoot production network technologies and servers.• Implement, manage, and troubleshoot VMware and SAN.• Implement, manage, and troubleshoot Local/Cloud backup systems.• Administer access control systems by adding, modifying and removing user access.• Manage Active Directory as a Domain Admin, including but not limited to OUs, Distribution Groups, Security Groups, Users, Computers, Service Accounts, and Group Policies.• Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for improvement and growth of infrastructure.• Create and manage multimillion-dollar IT infrastructure budget.

• Configure, manage and troubleshoot laptops and desktops that are utilized by administration and production employees.• Assist Network Engineer with configuring, managing, and troubleshooting production networktechnologies and servers. • Monitor production servers and network components daily via various monitoring software.• Assist Network Engineer with administering access control systems by adding, modifying and removing user access.

• Troubleshoot /assist with any hardware and software issues /requests for corporate and retail end users.• Research multiple databases for redundancy and consistency to help determine potential causes of issues.• Install and support corporate and retail PC infrastructure including hardware and software.• Manage signature pad and receipt printer inventory, including RMA and repairs.• Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for improvement and growth of infrastructure.• Manage user domain accounts, including the resetting of user passwords and adding them to the appropriate group.• Properly image new PCs and add them to the domain to insure correct configurations for deployment.
