I have worked as part of the marketing department at The University of Arkansas Press since arriving at the University of Arkansas as a freshman in 1997. Upon graduation in 2001 I was hired as a full-time employee at the Press. My duties over the years have been numerous and varied but include: website design and maintenance, catalog layout and design, cover design and the management of cover design with freelance designers, advertising buying and design, direct mail design and management of direct mail projects, award submission and maintenance of an award database, management of social media efforts, metadata submission using Netread, Coresource, and Title Management, management of ebook distribution through Coresourse and Bibliovault in addition to working directly with ebook sellers such as Amazon and iBooks, management of review copy lists, and general office work such as answering phones, sending mail, and maintaining a filing system.I have also been responsible for hiring and supervising work-study students.In my position I work with other departments inside the Press, other departments on campus, and with customers, reviewers, editors, and other people in the publishing industry.
