Arlington Thrive provides timely assistance to help neighbors in need so they can develop the capacity to be stable, secure and thrive in their jobs, health and homes.https://arlingtonthrive.org/Arlington Thrive is the product of decades of neighbors helping neighbors to create a more vibrant and supportive Arlington County.Originally founded in 1975 as AMEN (Arlingtonians Ministering to Emergency Needs), we trace our roots back to North and South Arlington FISH (For Immediate Sympathetic Help) initiatives formed in the 1960s by churches addressing local community needs. In 2013, we rebranded as Arlington Thrive to embrace our vision of progress, which includes all Arlingtonians regardless of creed.Over the past 48 years, Arlington Thrive has evolved from an informal volunteer initiative into a key component of the social safety net and a valued partner to the county government. Today, Thrive provides timely assistance to help our neighbors in need so they can develop the capacity to be stable, secure and thrive in their jobs, health and homes. Our grants cover emergency rent payments to prevent eviction, utility payments to avoid heat and water disconnections, much-needed medication for clients facing serious health issues, and more.While a lot has changed since our founding, we remain committed to our community and to the values of compassion and partnership with which we were founded. Our long-term vision is to create an Arlington community where all have homes, are financially stable, and thrive.

The National Labor Exchange (NLx) is an electronic labor-exchange network, created in 2007 in a partnership agreement between NASWA and DirectEmployers Association (DirectEmployers). This is an unprecedented public-private partnership that leverages private non-profit-owned technology with existing state workforce agency resources.The NLx collects and distributes job openings exclusively found on over 18,000 corporate career websites and state job banks – and is growing on a daily basis. There are more than 2 million job openings on the NLx at any given time.All NLx services are offered at no cost to state workforce agency customers – both jobseekers and employers – as well as to state workforce agencies and federal partners.Today, all state workforce agencies, including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Guam, have signed participation agreements with DirectEmployers to operate the NLx.

Manage daily operations of the NLXPresent at national and state workforce conferences and committee meetings for NASWA and the NLX.Review and analyze regulatory documents, legislation, policies, surveys and studies before providing written reports or briefs to NASWA directors and state workforce agency staff.Support the NLX through problem resolution with states and employers while monitoring federal legislation, regulatory actions and appropriations pertinent to the NLX.Contribute to written and oral testimonies before various House and Senate Committees.Provide meeting support for the National Labor Exchange Operations Committee and Veterans Affairs Committee.NASWA and NLX Social Media Manager and Social Jobs Partnership liaison.
