Working with Beni Yoshida and Rob Myers on many projects related to quantum information and the holography of black holes. Holography is one of our best set of tools to investigate the intersection of quantum mechanics and gravity, and black holes provide a fascinating laboratory to test new ideas. Currently, I am investigating many aspects of the theory, such as:- The relationship between recovering quantum information that has fallen into a black hole and an infalling observer's ability to figure out what's happening outside the black hole- How quantum chaos manifests itself in the gravity side of the duality: specifically, how does "scrambling", which leads directly to the information-theoretic ability to recover information, implement itself from the black hole's perspective?- Holography says that every semiclassical geometry has a quantum state that represents it, typically thought of as living at the edges of the spacetime. On the other hand, we can take a random state in this boundary theory and ask what geometry it corresponds to. Said another way, we know how to talk about the superposition of a quantum state, but what about a superposition of geometries?

Since Fall 2019, I worked in Barbara Jacak's group, which studies Quark-Gluon Plasma, an exotic state of matter which exists only in the most extreme conditions. In particular, I have constructed a basic Quark-Gluon discriminator which can be used to discriminate originating particles in jets in Pb-Pb collisions. This work was funded by the Nuclear Science Security Consortium.In Summer 2019, I worked in the Gould, Feinberg and Munger lab with a goal of measuring the permanent electric dipole moment of the electron (EEDM) to 2 orders of magnitude better precision. An EEDM is CP violating, and this level of sensitivity would constrain CP violation enough to constrain past the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model.From Fall 2018 to Spring 2019, I worked in Oliver Gessner's group specializing in time-resolved spectroscopy of helium droplets. The goal of the experiment was to understand the time domain of charge and energy transfer in this state of matter.

I teach both Mathematics and Reading focused programs to K-12 students.
