  My career began by working for a prominent Washington DC Commercial General Contractor for several years while going through high school, college and a few years after college.I transitioned from construction into recruiting by joining one of the largest recruiting companies in the world where my focus was on construction, skilled trades, and engineering positions. At this firm I was recognized as one of the top recruiters in the company and consistently ranked in the top ten nationally out of all the recruiters. A subsequent position as Senior Recruiter with one of the largest Building Services and Building Operations companies in the DC region taught me the complexities of staffing large government projects on short notice, and honed my responsibilities in full life-cycle recruiting. I received numerous performance awards and was seen as a strategic business partner to the operations team. I obtained my PHR certification (Professional in Human Resources) during this time.While working as a corporate recruiter I came up with the idea for Cornerstone Recruiting. My position in corporate HR allowed me to see the “other side of the fence” on how the services and performance of the existing recruiting companies were falling short of what companies actually needed. In Spring 2004, I launched Cornerstone Recruiting – a company that firmly believes in its responsibilities as an extension of each client's team and does not stand by as a typical secondhand vendor.
