About Charlie Gavin

Charlie Gavin is a storyboard artist and writer with 6+ years industry experience. He spent his childhood watching cartoons while growing up surrounded by almond farmers in California’s central valley. He attended CalArts' Character Animation program before leaving to work on “Clarence” at Cartoon Network (and to stop spending exorbitant amounts of money on art school). There he learned on the job by getting experience with writing, revisions and storyboards. Since then, he’s contributed storyboards and episode ideas to multiple board and script-driven shows at studios including Nickelodeon, Disney TV Animation and Dreamworks TV. He also spent time studying in UCB’s improv and sketch writing programs. He currently resides in Glendale and has a tuxedo cat that sleeps in a tiny IKEA doll bed.
