I am seeking a career in event planning because I have much experience helping to run a pop culture convention called Indy PopCon. I’ve enjoyed the chaotic environment that requires really fast and efficient decision-making. I’m outgoing and like to be in authoritative situations, but I also like to work as a team. These are all important for the hands-on aspect of working a con. I like the sense of community that comes with putting on large-scale events from you, your co-workers, and all attendees. I do much work on the floor at these conventions to make sure all the staff is running and operating efficiently and that all the attendees are happy. I have also worked with celebrities of varying levels of fame, which has been a unique experience. I would like to work for many large-scale conventions until I end up as a part of a corporation, like running events for Pokemon, which would be my dream job, or starting a company of my own to help people or businesses throw large-scale events.
