Support Engineer / Senior Systems Admin
IBM Wellington, New Zealand. Started in an OS/2 support role, cross-trained on introduction of PowerPC and moved into AIX support. Became country expert on RS/6000 SP supercomputers, heavily involved in National Library, Carter Holt, TAB and IBM internal installations. Moved to development and project work with national electricity trading scheme, solely responsible for installation, configuration and administration of RS/6000s, including successful live DR testing. Attended residency in Austin, TX to co-create workshop on AIX and NT Interoperability. Became senior AIX systems administrator at Petone data centre, acting as advisor to contractors and other admins. Delivered a number of OS/2 and AIX courses for IBM Education as principal or co-instructor. May '98 appointed as RS/6000 lead in IBM NZ's Y2k compliance project. Many formal and informal awards for achievements.
