In 2024 we will host our first CogX Festival in Los Angeles for May to 7th and 8th, and we will return to London for a new invitation only CogX Global Leadership Summit on October 7th. I started studying at Westminster, then Bedales School. In the holidays I worked making tea and cleaning equipment at Hilton Sound plc, and then at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios as an assistant engineer. I helped buyout Music Bank from Hilton Sound at 18 and retook my A levels so I could get into Imperial College to study Computer Science in 1994. I took a leave of absence a year to start Orchestream. After being turned down by 100 investors, Orchestream won backing from Esther Dyson, Hermann Hauser & Terry Matthews. Aged 23 I had raised £30m & built a 100 person software leader that pioneered the management of IP networks for the biggest telecos including AT&T, BT, Vodafone, Singtel & BellSouth.We floated Orchestream on the LSE & Nasdaq in June 2000 with a market cap of £1bn. Oracle owns it now. In 2001 I started angel investment network, iGabriel, with Ryan Prince and Mark Woodall, now Pi-Capital. In 2001 I founded Nexagent which pioneered service activation across multiple carrier MPLS VPN services. Our largest client, EDS, bought the company in 2008. In 2007 I founded t5m and in 2010 Rightster whose software and services make it simple for video rights holders to 360 distribute and build audiences for their video on a licensed, ad-funded, subscription, pay per view or paid placement basis. 5 years later we distributed to over 10,000 publishers and YouTube Multi Channel Network (MCN) was over 3,000 channels, number 1 in the UK, featured in the highest ranks of ComScore and delivered over £20m in revenue. We took Rightster public in 2013 on the LSE AIM but after disagreement with the Board on strategy I stepped down. The business now trades as BraveBison.Since 2013 my focus as been on democratising access to knowledge, especially in the area of Artificial Intelligence.
