I’m a Provisional Psychologist and Doctoral Researcher interested in the potential of novel, co-produced approaches and interventions to promote mental health and prevent suicide in LGBTQIA+ young people. With over 9 years' experience in the youth mental health sector, I’m motivated to lead community-responsive research that elevates the experiences of diverse young people and has a translational impact on mental health, suicide prevention and education policy and practice. My current research interests focus on the potential role of safe online communities and digital interventions in supporting queer and trans young people experiencing self-harm or suicide risk.I am completing my PhD research at Monash University in collaboration with Orygen’s Youth Suicide Prevention Unit.Alongside my research, I am completing practitioner training in Educational and Developmental psychology. I am completing my final clinical placement at Raise the Bar Psychology. My PhD program is funded by an Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship and a 2023 Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship.

Research Assistant In Suicide PreventionOrygen Aug 2020 - PresentResearch Assistant (RA) in the Suicide Prevention Research Unit at Orygen, led by Professor Jo Robinson, within the Centre for Youth Mental Health at the University of Melbourne. The unit has been operating for almost 20 years and is internationally-recognised for its work in youth suicide prevention across school, community, clinical and online settings. As a lead RA on several projects, I have contributed to studies employing a range of methods: Delphi expert consensus studies, systematic reviews, participatory co-design and intervention evaluation studies, including an RCT of a suicide prevention intervention delivered entirely via social media. Our team led the development of a world-first, best practice framework for youth partnerships in suicide prevention research. In 2023 and 2024, I was the lead RA on a nationwide survey of young people's self-harm and suicide-related social media use. -
