I oversee the whole operation that is First Class Sailing.I am an RYA/DoT Yachtmaster (Ocean) Instructor. I learnt to sail as a boy on the River Dart and have since logged over 60,000 miles. In the 90's I taught people to sail at several Solent based schools, crossed the Atlantic four times and the Indian Ocean once, and worked as a delivery skipper moving boats of all sizes around the world. I also skippered a privately owned boat to Panama and around central America for a year, and have been involved with sail training for disadvantaged young adults on large sailing trawlers including Keewaydin, a 100ft Lowestoft Trawler and Provident, an 80ft Brixham Trawler.I have also spent a year in the merchant navy on large container vessels, getting an insight into how the other half do things. He has his Second Mate's ticket and a degree in Merchant Ship Operations.First Class Sailing is a First Class Sailing School! We cater for people with busy lives by offering convenient RYA evening navigation classes at your office. Day Skipper and Yachtmaster. Mostly in London but we have instructors all over the country. We also teach practical RYA courses on the water in the Solent.
