Victory Lane Ideas was founded to develop, manufacture and market a new product in the amusement industry. The product, which eventually became known as "NASCAR Showdown", is a computer-controlled remote control car racing game.for theme parks and family entertainment centers. The innovative, patented technology included a no-battery electric racetrack, computer lap counting, and audio and video to enhance the player experience.

Developed computer software and control systems for high volume automated test equipment for the electronic capacitor manufacturing lines. Supported all of the leaded test equipment in up to 7 plants at a time, developing new methods of long distance support. Achieved an unprecedented quality level of less than *2 defective parts per billion*, in a production line that ran for four years without a single batch rejected by QC. Before this project, the same tester had rejected batches approx. every 4-5 weeks.Increased the production testing capacity of one capacitor plant by 20% - up to $50 million additional revenue per year - for a one-time cost of about $10,000.

Managed new product development projects for the leading manufacturer in the supermarket scanning industry. Responsibilities included writing the new product definitons and specifications, coordinating the projects through the hardware and software development and testing processes, and coordinating field trials and software maintenance. When the local plant closed, I was offered a job as a Competition Analyst in Corporate Marketing at NCR World Headquarters, in Dayton Ohio, but opted to stay in the Greenville, SC area.
