With 170 measurement stations in 16 European countries, ICOS data helps keeping track of atmospheric, ocean and earth responses to climate change and other environmental challenges. As a Communications Specialist at ICOS, I am involved in several EU projects handling the communications strategies, marketing and promotion, brand development and PR & media relations, collaborating with a range of European universities and other scientific institutions throughout Europe. My work is strategical but also hands-on, creating visual guidelines and designing digital and print materials, in addition to producing videos and participating in the event marketing for big events such as the biannual international ICOS Science Conference gathering scientists from all across the globe. My main responsibilities were analyzing the needs for the new websites, planning the content and logical structures, developing the design and user-friendly paths.I also served as Editor in Chief for the hospital magazine which was distributed twice a year to almost 100,000 homes in the district. Additionally, I was in charge of PR, media strategies, and events. In 2015 I created an extensive social media content strategy for the hospital, which increased the number of followers and interactions substantially. I was in charge of the social media calendar, the overall content creation, the digital interaction with clients and the reporting for various social media platforms.
