About Charlotte Baldwin

I believe that strong communities, culture and education form the three cornerstones of any happy, functional society and that health and wellbeing are essential for the happiness of each individual. I am dedicated to helping as many people as possible improve their lives and become happier through developing their skills and self-knowledge, creatively challenging themselves and playing an active role in their community. Over the past decade my work has spanned community festivals, arts centre programming, community engagement, project management and creative facilitation work. I also have a strong interest in fostering mental health and wellbeing. I am a published poet and in 2017 launched Gypsy Rose Poetry, a pop up poetry performance which engages one person at a time in a dialogue about their lives. By offering each person the opportunity to talk freely and see their life experiences transformed into something beautiful through the lens of poetry, Gypsy Rose encounters can help to give a refreshed perspective and make each person feel treasured, tackling isolation and low self esteem. In 2019, I received funding from the Mayor of London to bring Gypsy Rose Poetry to 3 London boroughs, bringing poetry and conversation to lonely and isolated residents with home library services.
