Working with young people with special needs is a life changing experience. I come to work every day excited to know that I will learn something new and become more capable at serving others. My favorite task to do is to work with them one on one and help guide them in learning life skills. This looks like helping them learn basic skills like folding laundry or managing money all the way to helping them work well with others and succeed at becoming independent. Another great skill I employ is creating lesson plans and organizing curriculum to support student learning and independence.

Transporting students to and from schools and medical facilities brought great new experiences in connecting with others. I was able to create a network of compassionate professionals who taught me important lessons in special needs care. My communications skills allowed me to work with a variety of individuals and coordinate schedules effectively. I also provided prompt information to parents and teachers and created great trust in my service.
