Note: this summary is focused toward a position as an educational materials sales associate. There is much more to my curriculum Vitae than these particular skills and accomplishments.As a teacher of both English-Writing and Studio Art and Art History, I have taken my story-making skills and paintings into every elementary and middle school in Glynn County, Georgia. I have taught both subjects for two years in Hoboken k-12 in Brantley County. I have visited schools now in lock-down security and major security checks as a routine thing. The Frederica DAR gave me an award for Community Service in the Arts. (I have taught freshman college English Writing and Literature courses from 1982 --1992, at Florida State University first, and then with my Master's Degree at then-Brunswick College, which is now the College of Coastal Georgia.) I have worked in two different Bookstores, my favorite being Virginia Hobson Hicks's The Book Shoppe on Newcastle St. in Brunswick. For three years I wrote weekly features for The Harbor Sound, covering both national and weekly elections, including one in which a straw poll led to over-turning plans to enlarge the jail in mid-city, and then to forcing its move out of town.I have attended five years of annual Modern Language Association Conferences in New York,San Francisco,(twice) Toronto, and Washington, D.C.(twice). I have given two papers at Literary Conferences, both on writer Rosemary Daniell, one at Florida State U., and the other at Berry College/University in Rome, Georgia.As a former public school teacher, and a parent of three sons, now grown, I have great contacts in the field here in Brunswick, which is not far from Jacksonville, and anywhere in neighboring counties all the way north to Gwinnett, east to Columbus and Albany.
