A varied role that focused on building a close relationship to support a person with Specifically their disability made mobility, work, household duties, life administration, and socialising difficult without support. The work included cooking and housekeeping, delivering tai chi sessions, and attending to administrative duties as needed.

I began the post as a general pupil support assistant, working with multiple children within a classroom setting and later specialised in working 1-1 with children who have complex emotional and social challenges. This job led to my decision to apply for the Access Programme at the University of Edinburgh, and later degree studies. It also informs my aspiration to train as a counsellor.

As a freelance felt-making teacher I ran classes for adults from Edinburgh Pallet, based at St Margaret's House in Edinburgh. I also ran a number of afterschool clubs in several schools and have occasionally taught from my home. In addition to teaching, I exhibited my own works over several years at the 'Colony of Artists' annual open-door exhibition in Edinburgh each September.

This temporary part-time post involved managing the kitchen and volunteers in a busy community setting, delivering a two-course lunch to a community group, and light lunches and snacks in the café.
