An ethnographic study about an Emergency Recovery Care Centre (ECRC) in Ponnani, Kerala. The ECRC is an acute-care centre for homeless people with mental health problems. It is a partnership between The Banyan (NGO), the local palliative care unit, and the municipality of Ponnani. This model is the first of its kind, and research is needed to replicate the model in other municipalities. Using document analysis, observations, key informant interviews, and questionnaires I am investigating the unique factors, strengths, and challenges of this partnership.
