Head Of Communications & Marketing
CurrentI am responsible for advancing the organisation’s brand and global reputation as a leading advocate for gender equity through arts-driven activism. I oversee all aspects of marketing and communications, brand management, and stakeholder communications; building and executing campaigns to raise profile, build engagement and awareness, managing multiple budgets, and reaching box office targets and other kPIs. I am responsible for WOW’s publicity strategy, managing an external PR agency.
London Borough Of Culture Communications & Content Manager
I led the communications and marketing strategy for the first ever Mayor's London Borough of Culture in Waltham Forest. Over a busy and exciting year, we programmed, produced and developed multiple arts and cultural projects and events from an opening event attracting 70,000 people to Walthamstow to working with Damon Albarn to bring a sold out Africa Express to a Big Top tent in Wanstead Flats, and collaborating with dozens of young people to develop a play as part of a special episode of BBC's Imagine... Key responsibilities included developing robust, exciting and accessible public facing campaigns to promote the year's activity; both a busy programme of events working with world renowned artists and a year-long engagement and legacy programme across strands including education, volunteering, cultural leadership and arts funding. I led on press engagement, digital marketing, website development, content creation and art direction of multiple films documenting the year.
Freelance Communications & Marketing Manager - Wow - Women Of The World Festival London 2019
Created and implemented marketing and communications strategy for WOW Festival London - a three day festival at Southbank Centre with an audience of 20,000. This included leading ticketing, PR, social media, content creation, print, design and on the ground event coverage.
Communications And Digital Manager
Following a long role in West End theatre, I moved to Cardboard Citizens to fulfil my ambition to work in-house for a producing theatre company, and to work for an organisation that shared my values in the power of the arts and its ability to platform often unheard voices. Working in a small but ambitious development and marketing team, my key responsibilities included leading on PR, digital strategy - including website, newsletter and social media, building partnerships and leading communication with all external and internal stakeholders.Alongside profile building work, I led hugely successful communications and marketing strategies for major theatrical runs in London venues including Soho Theatre, on UK tours and at the Edinburgh Festival.
Editor
During my eight years at SOLT/UK Theatre, I worked in a small team to establish Official London Theatre -the West End's leading theatre website (in excess of one million monthly page views) and printed fortnightly guide (circ 100,000), and spearhead social media channels. I led on digital strategy, project managed and edited numerous printed and online publications, and developed popular online content. As part of my role, I interviewed actors and creatives; writing weekly articles, and filming and editing video content. I played a key role in the media team for the annual Olivier Awards, creating content for all its external communication channels.
