I am an extremely competent clinical nurse, and I can demonstrably provide an enhanced level of clinical expertise in triage, assessment and advice for children and young people. I also possess proven leadership and management skills being fully responsible for the management, planning and co-ordinating of services with an overall aim of providing a professionally constructive, cohesive work environment. My excellent leadership skills allow me to provide direction across many complex situations, effectively streamlining and integrating services. My vast experience across a range of services including acute hospital care, mental health for children and young people, complex needs, autism, challenging behaviour, education and both community and residential services for children will stand me in good stead to continue to provide clinical leadership as a senior healthcare manager.

They frequently place me at a local Children's Hospital whereby I have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of clinical interventions such as measuring and recording vital signs, enteral feeding, bowel and bladder management, pain management, tissue viability, airway management, seizure management, administration of medication, wound management, and the recognition and response of a medical emergency. I'm also frequently placed at a school for children with profound physical disability and complex epilepsy. There are very specific skills which are required as an agency nurse such as flexibility, adaptability, being a fast learner and being able to work as part of a team.I particularly enjoy working for Whizz Kidz - a children's charity which is dedicated to assisting physically disabled young people to be as mobile as possible. Whizz Kidz run frequent 'Camps' - overnight residential trips where I am the nurse in charge and responsible for all of the medication as well as the physical and mental well-being of the young person. I also undertook the on-call duty nurse role for one of the agencies. This involved problem solving, conflict resolution, strategic management of staff and building and maintaining relationships with professionals, clients and staff. Show less -
