My role here is to educate young, vulnerable individuals by completing 1:1's and delivering sessions on healthy relationships, sexual health and contraception as well as getting young people to use contraception to prevent unwanted teenage pregnancy whilst maintaining a non-judgmental and confidential service in the community and in the office to fulfil the role.1:1's with individuals with a range of vulnerabilities including learning difficulties, homeless, school children, children in care etc.. who need advice and guidance on sexual health, healthy relationships and contraception. I also work with pupil referral units (PRU's) and colleges to educate small classes of young adults to deliver sessions about the laws around sex, puberty, contraception, healthy relationships, consent and how to access their nearest clinic.In the office, my duties include :Keeping patient health records up to date and filling in information on each person to the highest standard I can to ensure they are given the most suitable treatment or advice.Liaising with the outreach nurses and nurses from other clinics within The Northern to get appointments for the young people to suit their schedules and getting the right contraception/treatment/advice they need in the closest location possible to their home.Liaising with multiple professionals to ensure young people are getting the sexual health help needed and support on any issues surrounding their relationshipCreating and maintaining relationships with different hostels, colleges, universities etc to deliver sexual health stands/events to promote the service and get young people tested for STI’s or given contraception. Filling my own diary and sticking to the schedule to make sure the day is time effective.Responding to emails in a professional manner, taking phone calls from multiple different agencies, filing referrals in the correct files and arranging the referrals to see 1:1/group sessions.

My role at Dr Ahmed's surgery involves various administration jobs along with professionally greeting visitors and telephone callers to the practice, arranging appointments for the patients whilst maintaining patient confidentiality, being compassionate to the needs of each and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.I had to organise the daily patient list, send out reminders to each and ensure the relevant tasks of the day were completed and filed correctly.The secretarial tasks I did included sending samples for medical testing, recording the results and updating patients, typing letters, clinical reports and dictations and updating databases and spreadsheets. I also had to scan documents onto the medical system and photocopy notes and other medical letters and upload to the correct patient records.For a short period of my time here, the practice became a Covid vaccination site where I helped out inputting data as each person was vaccinated and ensuring the correct batch, expiry and product type was sent to their own GP records.
