I am a hard-working and enthusiastic graduate with a first-class BSc (Hons) in Human Biology from Sheffield Hallam University. With a wide range of experience in both high-pressure environments, such as the fast-food industry, and the precise nature of working in a research laboratory, I am passionate about utilising my life sciences degree to make a difference in the science industry.During my time at Sheffield Hallam University, I conducted a research project analysing the PCR testing used by the UK government for COVID-19 cases, utilising data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS). This experience allowed me to develop skills in data analysis and literature review.In my previous role as a Medical Secretary at Sheffield Children's Hospital, I provided administrative assistance to respiratory/sleep consultants and contributed to the efficient operation of the department. I also demonstrated leadership skills by leading the team in the absence of the team leader.During my placement year as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Sheffield, I worked with the Sheffield Myeloma Research Team (SMaRT) on the development and testing of an oncolytic virus for myeloma and lymphoma treatment. I gained valuable laboratory experience and mastered tissue culture techniques.In addition to my academic and professional experience, I have developed essential skills through various part-time roles, including waitress, camp counsellor, customer assistant, crew member at McDonald's, and chalet host. These experiences have helped develop my interpersonal skills, adaptability, and ability to work in diverse teams.At university, I achieved the Bronze Hallam Award, which highlights my commitment to personal growth and overcoming challenges.
