In this role I advise in a range of consultancy services with a focus on residential developments for global clientele. I focus on both the branded and non-branded residential sectors providing market driven recommendations through comprehensive data analysis. In addition, she has been involved in value engineering in order to maximise the development value and potential returns at the same time as minimising risk and ensuring the most efficient use of the land.

In this role I assist qualified chartered surveyors with valuation, agency, rent review, and development work in relation to commercial and residential property. I attend property inspections and client viewings and assist with valuation reports, development appraisals, marketing reports and marketing particulars, as well as communicating with clients. I am over a year into my APC studies and currently pursuing the commercial pathway. I have also been able to gain a valuable understanding of various softwares that are used within the industry and believe myself to be a proficient user of ARGUS Developer and KEL Investment Software, as well as Rightmove Plus and CoStar. In addition, I have had the opportunity to attend various seminars and social events run by industry professionals and have begun to form strong professional relationships with individuals within the industry.

This role involved waiting on and working behind bars at various large events in Edinburgh, such as large dinners in some of Edinburgh’s most beautiful venues. This role taught me how to integrate well into ever-changing teams and adapt quickly to new working environments and demands. The fast paced, exciting environment taught me to be attentive and organized, whilst working to the best of my ability to meet the high standards required by the clients.

This is a small-scale property company that deals simultaneously in HMO-lettings and the residential buy-to-sell market. In this role I was required to keep up to date with their property portfolio and had the opportunity to attend a number of property viewings as well as witnessing sales. As a result of the smaller scale of the business I believe I gained an understanding of what is involved in a variety of aspects of business ranging from project management, budgeting and the finances involved, to client interaction and satisfaction, and negotiations.

During work experience at this Architects Firm I was able to shadow qualified architects whilst designing houses, meeting with clients to discuss their preferences and attend sight viewings.
