After a career as an entrepreneur, selling her company and retiring as CEO in 2012, Beyer created the Principle Quest Foundation, a 501c3, whose mission was to support innovative education and mentoring programs for women with a focus on gender equity and racial justice.Her career spanned 40+ years, first on Wall Street, and then as founder of the Institute for Private Investors [IPI] in 1992. A pioneer in social media, IPI hosted the first online community for investors when it went live in 1998. For two decades Beyer earned the trust of the 1500 UHNW investor members by offering a safe harbor, education and community inside that private membership organization. Her 2017 book, Wealth Management Unwrapped Revised and Expanded, is an original addition to the industry's body of knowledge. Instead of prescribing a one-size-fits-none solution, Beyer encourages investors with her unique humor and straight talk to find their own GPS – discover if they might be better off being a do-it-yourself investor or should partner with a trusted financial advisor. An Aresty Fellow of the Wharton School, Beyer taught for 20 years in Wharton’s Private Wealth Management program, a five-day residential curriculum she co-created with Wharton in 1999. Over 1100 principals/families with substantial assets have attended from 55 countries and 42 states.A graduate of Hunter College, Beyer is the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement citation from Family Wealth Report for her 'tangible legacy [that] championed the interests of private investors,' and was recognized in 2016 by the Investments & Wealth Institute® for key innovations and thought leadership with the J. Richard Joyner award.Beyer was featured in the Wall Street Journal Donor of the Day column in 2011 for her early philanthropic activity in support of high school scholarships at the Westover School. From 2012-2023 the Principle Quest Foundation made modest grants each year to those organizations whose work aligned with the foundation's mission.
