Combining my core values of compassion, empowerment, inclusivity and determination with my experience in coaching, recruitment, engagement and employee development, I am a driver of change in each organization I am apart of.I always wanted organizations to be places that actually supported people. As a leader in People & Culture, I love listening to new and current talent to learn what employees are passionate about and what they want their workplace to look like. Understanding the needs of employees is something that I cherish and that guides my decision-making process every day. Knowing that I can impact someone's day with a small but caring interaction or by implementing a new initiative, is what keeps me going.During the course of my career, I have gained a breadth of experience with various tech companies. While I was in school for my M.A. in Organizational Psychology I started working with Talent&Culture (now Ivy Group), a tech recruitment agency. I fell in love with talking to people and connecting them with the right organizations. As I have grown I have gotten to explore People & Culture more broadly. At Talent&Culture, CanMar and Pixel Union I had the privilege of defining each organization's values using an appreciative inquiry approach. Getting employees at all levels to buy in to cultural change before taking action is something that brings me a ton of joy! In my latest role at Certn, I was granted the opportunity to build the Talent department from scratch, taking it from a team of 1 to a team of 4. It was an amazing opportunity to set up a system using best practices from day one; as someone who is processed oriented this was a dream come true! Ultimately the processes put in place and the Talent team we built allowed us to scale from 100+ to 400+ within a year. These are just a few tales of my successes over the last few years - you can also ask me about getting buy-in for a 4-day work week, increasing engagement during the pandemic, DEI workshops/events I have hosted, and more!But what is my secret sauce? Employees and candidates often tell me they appreciate my authenticity, kindness and ability to reframe tough situations.
