I was a UK Trade and Investment Advisor in the British Embassy's UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) team in Doha, Qatar. UKTI is the government organisation that helps UK based companies succeed in an increasingly global economy and assists overseas companies to bring the high quality investment to the UK's economy.I provided business opportunities, trade advice and support to UK-based companies wishing to explore potential and grow their business in Qatar. My sectoral responsibilities were ICT, Transport Infrastructure and Sports & Equestrian.

Having completed my training contract with DLA Piper, I qualified in 2007 as a solicitor in the contentious intellectual property practice of the Technology, Media and Commercial group in DLA Piper's Manchester office. I was involved in three major High Court trials and advised on the infringement of trade marks, registered and unregistered designs, copyright, patents and passing off.
