As a leader in the creative industries, I have built a career at the intersection of creative technological innovation and cultural organisational development. With an academic background in digital and media arts my expertise lies in designing and managing high-impact projects that connect academia with the creative sector, unlocking new opportunities for growth, innovation, and societal change. Currently, I am Programme Manager for the £2.3M Games and Innovation Nexus (GAIN) project, where – from my base at the University of Surrey – I oversee our multi-university collaboration aimed at bridging the gap between the UK’s world-class gaming clusters and academic research. It is an absolute honor to be working so closely with the Creative Futures team at the University of Warwick and the School of Games and Creative Technologies at UCA! Prior to this, I spent nearly six wonderful years as Executive Director and later Co-Director (alongside the visionary Ruth Catlow) of Furtherfield, London's longest-running digital arts organisation. During my time there, we pioneered the use of Live Action Role Play (LARP) games as research tools. We partnered with major research institutions to immerse policymakers and diverse stakeholders in serious games exploring future-facing issues from innovative and imaginative perspectives. Our work, driven by Ruth’s leadership in ethical blockchain, and our eco-social community arts practice, rigorously examined the digital societies we are all shaping. I am deeply committed to fostering creative communities that thrive. Earlier in my career, I founded the academic support networks PhD2Published and #acwrimo, building vital platforms for collaboration and peer support. At Furtherfield, I led an initiative focused on well-being, which included a care fund, coaching, and kinder contracting, ensuring our collaborators felt supported throughout their creative journeys. This passion for resilience has led me to offer coaching to creatives, where I integrate neuroscience-backed, solutions-focused therapeutic modalities to help individuals navigate the challenges of the sector with strength and confidence. I am also a maker having founded a jewellery company that celebrates bold self-expression through maximal, mixable adornments for those who embrace their individuality.
