Part of a small team responsible for the delivery of Sport Competition for the London 2012 Olympic Football Tournaments in Cardiff, with sole responsibility for the Regional Training Venue. Initially based in Canary Wharf, London as part of a larger central team to ensure consistent preparation and planning of the Men’s and Women’s Football Tournaments across 6 UK cities. Worked regionally with FIFA commissioners and to FIFA standards to provide a world-class environment for 14 National Teams at two hotels, the training venue and the Millennium Stadium.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Overall responsibility for the management and approval of the training schedule for the venue - Communication of the approved schedule and subsequent changes to the Regional Football Manager, Sport Information team and other LOCOG functional areas - Liaison with other LOCOG functional areas to ensure the coordinated delivery of support services such as accreditation, security, transport, medical, media, venue operations and catering, at the Football training venue - Ensuring that Sport Equipment requirements at the training venue were met - Managing and motivating a team of 25 volunteers (Games Makers) to deliver a first-rate venue and ensure that all teams enjoyed a high quality experience - Liaison with the training venue’s groundsmen to ensure the field of play was fit-for-purpose and met FIFA standards - Working closely with LOCOG Transport to define and agree the transport principles for athletes to and from the training venue

Provided sole marketing input to Cardiff Council’s Sports Development Team in its endeavour to achieve World Class Capital for Sport status.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Development, implementation and project management of significant marketing and promotional campaigns - Liaison with external key stake holders and partners on joint initiatives e.g. Sport Wales, National Governing Bodies, Cardiff Blues, Cardiff Devils, Glamorgan Cricket, Cardiff City FC and Media Wales - Site branding and VIP management lead at the 2009 UK School Games - Successful organisation and delivery of the 2009 European City of Sport Conference as part of Cardiff’s awarded status by ACES (Association of Capitals of European Sport)

Worked in a small team, reporting to Cardiff Council’s Chief Executive, tasked with organising and delivering the successful IX Biennial Congress of the Federation of European Local Authority Chief Executives (UDiTE) and delivering specific projects as part of the Presidential Action Plan 2008-2010.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Establishment and maintenance of a multi-language website and marketing material - Securing long-term sponsorship, monitoring the budget and producing financial reports for key stakeholders - Organisation of UDiTE events throughout Europe including the selling of sponsorship/exhibition space; maintenance of event budgets; logistical support; accommodation and travel arrangements for International VIPs, speakers and delegates; coordination of print of bi-lingual materials; liaison with external event suppliers and venue management; and post-event evaluationNotes: UDiTE is a professional networking organisation for Local Government Chief Executives across Europe.
