Among other key day-to-day roles, my involvement and business leadership led to the move and expansion of the business from a 2,000 square foot studio in high rent city to a 13,500 square foot studio in an emerging marketplace and more than doubled profit margins. Responsibilities● Cradle-to-grave management of custom design projects starting with customer inquiry, to project cost and scheduling estimates, change management, to quality assurance, installation and compensation.● Operations: Maintain all aspects of company financial records including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventor, insurance, payroll, permits, supply chain management.● Human resources: recruit, hire and manage company staff.

Les New York City

Imagined in 1996 by myself and long time friend and business partner Teresa Farnell, Motor City Bar enjoyed a 20 year sprint in the heart of the lower east side. We collaboratively took on the overall look and feel of the bar, material and labor sourcing, acquisition of authentic detroit automotive themed antiques and paraphernalia. As we moved into actual operations our responsibilities expanded to include human resource management, training, marketing, operations and business planning. Responsibilities● Human resources: Recruit, hire and manage company staff at all levels.● Training: Develop and implement training program to improve the customer experience, increase employee retention, and optimize profit margins.● Operations: Maintain all aspects of company financial records including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventor, insurance, payroll and permits.● Marketing: design, plan, implement and measure marketing strategies to elevate the bar’s status among target audiences including developing the company’s brand identity, business cards and company stationery, event flyers, and local promotion among relevant NYC publications.
