TechWorks Marine is a provider of oceanographic equipment and world-class solutions to monitor the marine environment, working in the private and public sectors both in Ireland and overseas.We provide products and services to a range of sectors including offshore renewable energy, coastal engineering, ports and harbours, oil and gas, aquaculture, water and utilities, academia, research and statutory monitoring. TechWorks Marine has been providing services to these sectors for the last 18 years in both Ireland and overseas.TechWorks Marine specialise in the provision of integrated real-time monitoring platforms based around our range of TechWorks Marine Black Box (TMBB) data acquisition and transmission systems. This fully customizable system has proven it's reliability time and time again on deployments for clients in Europe and Scandinavia.Alongside the TMBB range, we have been appointed as representatives for several companies in Ireland and Europe. Through this we have developed a diverse range of associates at locations around the world.Our dynamic team have extensive expertise in their relevant disciplines and together can provide custom integrated solutions in response to the requirements of a particular client. Our staff can work with clients on solutions ranging from embedded software development, metocean surveys to deploying operational data buoys, provisioned a full end-to-end service and product support to our client.

We carry out environmental, fisheries, and aquaculture surveys and monitoring programmes to meet Ireland’s national and international legal requirements. We provide scientific and technical advice to Government to help inform policy and to support the sustainable development of Ireland’s marine resource.We aim to safeguard Ireland’s unique marine heritage through research and environmental monitoring. Our research, strategic funding programmes, and national marine research platforms support the development of Ireland’s maritime economy.The Marine Institute was set up under the Marine Institute Act 1991:“to undertake, to coordinate, to promote and to assist in marine research and development and to provide such services related to research and development, that in the opinion of the Institute, will promote economic development and create employment and protect the marine environment.”Since then, we have grown from a staff of one to over 170 and our vision is for "a thriving maritime economy in harmony with the ecosystem and supported by the delivery of excellence in our services."

Data Manager on an EU MAST III project called MITEC (looking at Microstrucutre turbulence in the near surface area). In addition i was project manager for the EU ICAMS project inhouse looking at linking HAB (Harmful Algal bloom events) with satellite imagery and real-time insitu data. I also managed an EU INTERREG project called ISSBS (Irish Sea Southern Boundary study). All these project had a certain amount of operational field work and were pan european.
