I am currently working as Engineering and Maintenance Delivery Manager, responsible for a team of Plant Engineers delivering improvement work and asset condition assessments on an operational facility.

I started with Sellafield Ltd on the graduate scheme in 2016, completing a 2 year training scheme involving several developmental training courses and experiences and 4 different placements; from front-line engineering support, equipment reliability teams and within engineering design.Since 2018 I have worked on different within different operational buildings on a variety of different systems as a system/reliability engineer. This is a combination of front-line troubleshooting and fault finding the often ageing equipment and systems, and assessing asset condition and providing long-term predictions on facility condition and whether it will meet its lifetime requirements. As part of this role I had extensive experience of equipment reliability and process monitoring, asset condition assessments, nuclear safety case, and maintenance requirements. I also held engineering authority for all systems under my responsibility since 2019. I regularly interface with projects and other internal/external stakeholders, including regulators, giving tours of my facility and presenting technical material and reports. I have had experience communicating with people from a variety of backgrounds and roles and have built up a good understanding of how to vary communications based on different requirements.As part of this role, I had line management responsibilities for a small team of employees. As part of this, I assign work according to plant priorities and the skills of my employees, whilst taking into account their ambitions to progress or do something new. I am also an active member of the Sellafield Ltd branch of the Women in Engineering Society, where I am treasurer and have assisted in organising informative talks for other engineers.I also took part in a World Association of Operators (WANO) peer review, spending 3 weeks on another nuclear facility reviewing the engineering area.

For 9 years I have held a post as a cadet forces adult volunteer, as a uniformed non-commissioned officer.This role gives me experience in organising events and training programs for young people, as well as teaching in a variety of topics and coaching cadets in their personal development.It has also allowed me to gain qualifications of my own such as first aid.It also allows me to provide cadets with experiences they would not otherwise get and give something back to an organisation that provided me with many opportunities as a teenager.
