As the Director of Research and Development at Pharmakon, I have had the privilege to serve medication safety through initiatives aimed at pharmacies – benefiting patients and society. I have worked woth:- Patient centered care and communication- Patients’ perspectives on medicine use - Patients’ expectations to community pharmacy- Mentalizing mindset and communication- Narrative medicine- The profession of Pharmaconomists- Professional skills and identity- Tasks of pharmaconomists in community pharmacy My playground has been, the design, development and evaluation of community pharmacy services. R&D at Pharmakon has supported the development of services delivered at Danish Community Pharmacies. The topics are: - doesdispensing- safe and effective use of medicines (adherence and compliance)- healthcare technologies- better use of medicines in residential and nursing homes- medication reviews - represcribing of medicines. I have had the strategic responsability for continuous professional development for community pharmacists and pharmacinomists - within the areas of:- clinical pharmacy and pharmacology- the use of medicines- sector specific initiatives (services and counselling at the pharmacy)- Change management and Model of Improvement

Managing the daily work in Pharmacy practice research and the development of support to the benefit of all Pharmacies in DENMARK.

I am motivated by helping others, and throughout my career, I have been affiliated with universities. And to the contribution to the development of future healthcare professionals, I see it as my responsibility to participate in the education of these individuals, through counselling and censoring master’s projects and PhD projects.

The FIP Technology Advisory Group brings together experts from within FIP membership to exchange views on current activities, problem areas, best practices in technology.Its objectives are to:- Outline trends in technology and their effects on pharmacists in different settings- Explore global initiatives in technology and opportunities for pharmacists’ involvement- Provide expertise and advice on technology in order to inform FIP’s internal discussions (e.g., to appraise FIP’s strategic and policy recommendations) as well as FIP’s collaboration with partners, namely the World Health Organization in the area of technology- Offer guidance for FIP members on technology (e.g. through a publication leading to a policy statement or a project focused on technology)- Advise when special expertise is needed (e.g. technical consultation, request to edit a publication, etc.)

Pharmacy practice research looks at the impact of the practice of pharmacy on heath care systems, medicines' use and patient care. Its scope has expanded over the past 50 years to encompass aspects such as the clinical, behavioral, economic, and humanistic implications of the pharmacy practice as well as change management and implementation. At an international level this special interest group (SIG) provides a unique opportunity to develop an international strategy for pharmacy practice research to underpin international positions and policy. The group allows exchange of pharmacy practice research between senior researchers, early career researchers, postdoctoral fellows, pharmacist practitioners and PhD or MSc students to produce high quality evidence at an international level. The SIG allow a wider dissemination and exposure of high-quality pharmacy practice research to all stakeholders, as well as encourage and foster greater communication, discussion, networking and collaboration at an international level for the advancement of best practice research.

Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe is a network of researchers in Pharmaceutical Care research.I served the board of PCNE for seven years supporting networking among researchers through organising conferences and meetings.

Coordinating the research network for a period of two years. During this period I took the role as the networks frontperson, hosting events, communicating with the members and representing the network at international conferences giving talks on Pharmaceutical Care research. Lastly the strategic vision for the network was formulated and communicated.

In 2003 I received a PhD degree in Social pharmacy with a thesis named: "The Practice of Pharmaceutical care in Denmark - a quantitative approach".
