This position required that I output customers jobs to film, generally through an imposing program, for printing on either a community web press or heatset web press. Also, this company owns and publishes its' own regional real estate magazine for which I design all the ads as well as the look and content of the magazine and its' editorial pieces.

Work involves converting digital information from a multitude of programs submitted by clients and outputting into a readable format for mainframe. Daily use of MS Word, MS Works, MS Access, and MS Excel on the PC platform and ClarisWorks, Appleworks, QuarkXpress and Adobe Pagemaker on the MacIntosh platform.

Weekly publication required daily deadlines for advertising production, creating ad campaigns to present to potential advertisers and meeting print deadlines for weekly publishing. Worked exclusively in a MacIntosh environment using QuarkXpress and Photoshop programs.

Seven weekly and two monthly publications published by this company required strict adherence to deadlines. Responsibilities included ad design, pagination of publications, scanning of photographs, outputting to imagesetter and copy writing. Production end was exclusively in a MacIntosh environment making use of QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Pagemaker, Illustrator and Freehand.

The Island Trader is a weekly classifieds publication and The Islands' Nautical Scene is editorial in nature. My responsibilities as Art Director included overseeing ad production, developing the visual identity of the publications and creating marketing campaigns. The publications were initially a cut and paste process until I integrated full pagination with the MacIntosh using QuarkXpress.
