I am delighted to announce that I am taking on a new role with Book Aid International (BAI) as their Logistics Consultant. In this role I will be supporting BAI in their search for and commissioning of a new BAI Distribution Centre.This new Distribution Centre will allow BAI to significantly increase the number of donated books they can accept from their publishing supporters. Furthermore, the additional operational capacity that the new Distribution Centre will provide will enable BAI to substantially increase the number of books they can send to their partners overseas and further BAI’s aim to create a world where everyone has access to books.If you would like further information about this transition please do contact me. In 1975 I joined a group of publishers, Chatto & Windus, Bodley Head, Jonathan Cape & Virago Press, when they opened an operation in the UK - this later became Grantham Book Services. In 1988 I moved to Cambridge University Press, working predominantly at their UKDC but also spending time at all their other operations around the world. I joined Wiley in 2003 becoming responsible for Distribution and Customer Services in the UK, Singapore and Australia. In 2014 I was appointed Vice President, Global Supply Chain responsible for the global distribution and inventory management of all Wiley book and journal products in print. In this role I implemented, along with my teams, many supply chain improvements in a number of locations to ensure that we consistently provided a cost effective and market leading service to all our internal and external customers.
