I am an enthusiastic, intelligent and charismatic scientist with a passion for research. My particular interests include immuno-oncology and personalized therapies. I am in my second year of conducting research as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Department of Immunology. My previous research experiences include 2 years as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University in the Department of Entomology and 1 year as a Research Assistant at MD Anderson Cancer Research Center. With substantial experience in both veterinary clinical and biomedical research environments, I have acquired many technical skills, including conducting clinical intake exams, microscopy, molecular biology and cell culture techniques, laboratory animal handling skills and performing flow cytometry assays. I aim to take an interdisciplinary approach to both the development of novel immunotherapies and the communication of information to the public.Coming from a small island nation, I have witnessed the impacts that outreach initiatives can have on a community. Fostering public involvement and education are essential for the progress of not only science but also society.
