Charmian (Charmie) Cuthbert started her career as an Attorney in Texas working as a Contract Attorney for a few years before moving to New York City in 2008. In her time as a Contract Attorney, she worked at several large law firms including Hughes, Hubbard, & Reed; Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP; Patton Boggs LLP; and Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. She worked on several pharmaceutical cases and multi-million dollar legal actions. Charmian always hoped to focus on her corporate business interests and in November 2008, she began work as a Financial Consultant in the Document Management Group at Goldman Sachs. As this was the time of the financial crisis in New York City, Charmian soon returned to Contract Attorney work but it was her desire to “do something meaningful” that drove her to seek a new career in the non-profit sector. In August 2011, Charmian accepted a role at the American Heart Association as the Community Relations Manager for the Metro New York market. In her role, Charmian developed coordinated and implemented strategies, programs and services that position the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association as the leader in cardiovascular health issues. She was directly involved in the planning and execution of Community Health deliverables as well as market priority events, projects and campaigns. She successfully managed the market's volunteer and mission networks in order to successfully execute the local plans and activities to achieve maximum mission, volunteer and revenue success.In October 2012, Charmian was promoted to Community Health Director for the Greater Philadelphia Area. In this role, she continued to manage volunteers and drive mission and revenue success. Her role included working closely with the Greater Southeast Pennsylvania American Heart Association Board of Directors as well as strategic alliance relationships with the Philadelphia NFL Eagles and Philadelphia Department of Public Health.
