Char founded GOOD TO BE GOOD—a nonprofit prioritizing humanitarian services and advocacy, whose mission is to serve women and gender-diverse folks from historically marginalized communities with intersecting identities while promoting gender equity. With a grassroots approach and an intersectional framework, she has led its projects, services, and initiatives that build solidarity and empowerment from the ground up, using community-based solutions and mobilization methods. Char serves as the organization's Executive Director, working to action programs that tackle the overlapping issues of inequity and power distribution. She has a clear view of the gaps in service provision and resource investments while also grasping the realities and aspirations of women. Over 6 years, with a tiny staff, the organization has provided extensive support and programming to more than 1,000 women and gender-diverse people across what's known as Canada. They are committed to meeting their community's diverse needs and building on the collective effort through development, opportunities, rights protections, and community engagement. Char's advocacy addresses socioeconomic disparities, promotes an interconnected world, and hopes to empower women and girls facing gender-based violence and systemic inequities. A writer at heart, she pens think pieces championing intersectional feminism, ecological sustainability, community connection, and spiritual values that ultimately link love and transformative justice across her public channels. She also uses her platform to advocate for progressive policies and practices to amplify human rights causes globally.Hailing from Rexdale, Char currently resides in Toronto, where she actively volunteers and is a trusted advisor to organizations such as Sistering's Spun Studio, Women's Habitat, Siliyan Centre, and Dixon Hall's Out Of The Cold. She is also a member of the Board of Directors and serves on committees for Youth Rising Above—a charitable organization transforming the conditions for youth and young people.Over the years, Char has held several multidisciplinary roles, including helping launch and build startups and studios in the entertainment/film industries.
