Charlene Shepherdson is a poet and community organiser focused on language in written, performative and visual forms. She is interested in heritage, technology, arts advocacy and creative education. Her words have been published in From Walden to Woodlands and UnFree Verse (Ethos Books), A Luxury We Cannot Afford, SingPoWriMo 2014: The Anthology (Math Paper Press) and the Straits Times. Her visual poetry has been displayed in The Arts House, The Substation and in Singapore libraries under National Art Council’s Project LAVA. She has 11 years of experience in facilitating practice-based/practice-oriented workshops under companies such as Ivy Cubs, Sing Lit Station, Playware Studios, Janus Education, Red Tin Bot and Art Boot Camp. She has 5 years of EdTech experience in interactive narratives, learning design and game-based learning. She has 5 years of experience in organising and emceeing events. Affiliations: Charlene was a founding member of Party Action People, a spoken word troupe, and the spacer.gif collective which founded Singapore’s oldest interdisciplinary open-mic, destination: INK. She hosted the event between 2012 - 2017.
