Project title: Research title: Modelling response for long term trends of waterfowl species abundance and environmental stressors in Loch Leven. The short term placement in Edinburgh I worked on the long term ecological effects water quality and climatic factors on waterfowl in Loch Leven a Ramsar wetland. This placement also helped me learn several new techniques for water quality management of wetlands, analytical skills. Long term datasets for 45 years were modelled for 18 wintering waterfowl species in winter and summer seasons respectively.2. These models were correlated waterfowl abundance and three climatic, local stressors each using Generalized Linear Mixed Models in R.3. Outcome Climate Change will be an important factor in ecological functioning for wetlands and its biodiversity.4. Predict that multi-stressor analysis approach will be an important tool to understand studies of population dynamics for ecology and its applications based in wildlife or conservation management.5. Developed understanding on landscape approach, cross sectoral approach, adaptive management approach, governance framework, mountain landscape management, Sustainable use and management of natural resources by community and financial incentives, Public private partnership.4. The study was baseline survey to develop Kerela regional development programs, conservation based environmental analysis of landscape, and part of UNDP sponsored project.5.
