Chas DeWitt is the son of Barbara and Neil DeWitt who are both educators who reside in Safford, Arizona. Chas was born and raised in Holbrook, Arizona where he attended and graduated from Holbrook High School. After high school, Chas attended Eastern Arizona College before serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Santiago, Chile. Upon returning from his mission, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Northern Arizona University. Just three years later he earned a Master of Education from Northern Arizona University in Educational Leadership. Chas began his career in education, teaching, and coaching for the Snowflake Unified School District. He then taught/coached while he completed his Administrative Internship in the Joseph City Unified School District. Upon completing his internship he was hired as the Assistant Principal/Athletic Director for the Flagstaff Unified School District. Chas has been in Utah for the last 14 years. He worked for 12 years in the San Juan School District as both a school & district administrator. Chas served for six years in the Alpine School District as a secondary school Assistant Principal. Currently, Chas has jumped into the role of being an Assistant Principal at the elementary school level in the Salt Lake City School District.Chas also got his license to work as a financial coach who helps people protect their health, their lives, and their money. He works as an independent licensed agent to help educate adults, on how to prepare for their financial future.Chas has stayed very active in the communities where he has lived. He enjoys participating in sports regularly. He enjoys playing racquetball. He has been a high school wrestling official for over 30 years. He also officiates wrestling at the college level. Chas is often asked to be the Master of Ceremonies at numerous community events like parades, socials, pep assemblies, and community sporting events. He loves music and has been a DJ at dozens of dances over the years.
