An enthusiastic serial entrepreneur in the Medical Device industry specialising in the CardioVascular, Respiratory and Urology market segments. I founded three companies (MedNova, Novate & Veryan) and have raised capital totalling > £200 million from private investors, VC funds and venture debt. Respiratory Motion was acquired by Senzime (Sweden) in July 2022. Veryan was acquired by Otsuka (Japan) in December 2018 following US FDA PMA approval of the BioMimics 3D peripheral vascular stent. Japanese PMDA approval was achieved in 2020 post acquisition. Novate was acquired by BTG (UK) in September 2018 following FDA 510(k) clearance of the Sentry bioconvertible filter.MedNova was acquired by Abbott (USA) in 2005 following FDA approval for the X.act and EmboShield (now Nav6) carotid interventional products.In addition I have served in Chairman, Director and CEO mentorship roles for numerous start-up and early stage development companies. Most recently Brightwater was sold to Merit Medical in June 2019. I specialise in business, clinical and regulatory strategy.I have served as a lecturer and faculty member at medical investment conferences and at Charing Cross, BSIR and VIVA industry symposia. I have also been a guest lecturer on the Henley Management College MBA programme. I have recently completed the Institute of Directors Chartered Director course.
