Work in, on, and around all mechanical aspects of the chairlifts and gondolas on Vail Mountain. Responsibilities include all level 1 mechanic responsibilities but also included tasks such as Motor alignment, terminal work, being able to read, understand and diagnose hydraulic braking systems and tension systems. Thorough understanding of different types of wire rope and rigging procedures to splice chairlift haul ropes as well as metal and welding fabrication.

Responsible for interacting and communicating with owners of the facilities while working on my own as well as overseeing a team of individuals executing a full range of maintenance operations for a 275 resident housing development. Jobs included: Welding (arc), cement work, calculations for street/curb & gutter drainage, asphalt street repairs, landscaping and gardening, general carpentry work, drywall, perfataping and texturing, mold removal, plumbing, laying flooring, painting. Proficient skills include operating midsized tractors, large and small dump trucks, backhoes, garbage truck, large tree removal involving complex chainsaw cuts and cherry pickers.

Traveled all over the US performing/supervising Hot Tapping and Stopple operations on pressurized piping systems for T.D. Williamson. This includes, but is not limited to concrete and steel pipes containing a variety of different products such as, Crude Oil, Water, Natural Gas, Propane, and Ammonia. This process involves drilling and plugging pressurized piping systems of all sizes while still in service allowing maintenance to be preformed eliminating costly shutdown and revenue losses for our customers.*To view an example of the Hot Tapping and Plugging procedure see video below.

I was a Luge Operator/Instructor at a large tourist attraction at Skyline Gondola and Luge in Queenstown New Zealand. The Luge is part go-kart and part toboggan gravity fueled ride that takes visitors down an 800 meter long track where they are then loaded onto a chairlift to be taken back to the top of the attraction for more rides. My role included chairlift operations (fully certified), safety checks, minor maintenance of chairlift and luge carts. Everyday on the Luge provided new challenges that required intuitive problem solving skills. My roll also included photography and sales, international safety instructions of Luge cart operation, employee training, services dealing with the mentally handicapped and disabled customers, as well as being responsible for the safety of hundreds of customers on the chairlift and Luge daily.
