Report to the Manager and Director of UnderwritingAssess the risk of current and potential groups insured by the Health PlanRisk assessment includes determining both the financial and non-financial impact to the Health Plan Utilize the risk assessment processes and models developed by the Manager of Underwriting and Actuarial Services, while adhering to the established underwriting guidelines Stay abreast of regulatory changes and their impact on the underwriting processKeep up communication of underwriting and rating issues to other members of the Health PlanUtilize the established system of rating models to appropriately rate groups insured by the Health PlanUtilize pricing models to assess the financial impact of various benefit plan changes/modifications and Health Plan initiativesAppropriately utilize the established underwriting guidelines to assess the potential risk/insurability of current and prospective groupsInteract with the various functional areas of the Health Plan and serve as a resource for pricing and risk analysis expertiseMonitor regulatory changes and implement these changes in the risk assessment and rating process
