I was adventurous and ready to take chances. I relocated to Florida in order to work in the yachting industry. This experience was rewarding in ways I hadn't expected. Not only did I have to use quick problem solving, I had to navigate an unknown place knowing no one. The demanding, high-stakes setting was ideal for me, and I picked up new abilities fast either working on the deck or in the engine room. The lifestyle, with its social expectations, didn't fit with my principles and priorities though, as I quickly discovered. as I did meat some amazing people that helped me so much. So, I packed my bags for home, and I decided to look for options that better fit my interests, both personally and professionally, even though I enjoyed the work and learned a lot. I'm now eager to apply the flexibility and fortitude I acquired from this experience to a new line of work.
