In this role I provide support to Vanderbilt students, faculty, and sta a ected by sexual violence. I do this by accompanying these individuals through the Title IX process, connecting them to appropriate student care services and community resources. I have had the chance to become familiar with FERPA, the Student Conduct Policy, DEIB resources, student outreach practices, and the process to receive academic accommodations.

Same responsibilities as clinic advocate position listed with the addition of thefollowing.● Help survivors navigate legal systems, including accompanying survivors whilereporting to law enforcement, accompanying survivors to court, helping to findaccessible legal representation, and file Orders of Protection,● Help survivors find mental health care.● Assist survivors in navigating community resources based on individuals’ uniqueand varied needs.● Approach each situation in a trauma informed way to help survivors navigate thepath forward in a way which puts the autonomy of decision making and selfdirection as a priority.● Track client information and progress by building client profiles and maintainingnotes in database

Provide a welcoming and safe environment for survivors to come forward.Receive and welcome victims/survivors to the clinic, accompany them in receiving anMLE, contact a nurse to perform this exam, ensure their ethical practice, connectvictim/survivor to full time advocate through referrals to receive treatment andhealing options as well as legal advocacy. Help survivors connect to the appropriatelegal and aid agencies regarding the conditions of the assault and their wishes.

Conduct focus groups, facilitate discussions around research topics, code data, work with researchassistants and researchers to collect necessary data. Research topic for this study is the dialoguearound sexual assault within different male subpopulations. This research will be used to help designprograms within MTSU’s Power of One program, which is focused on preventing sexual assaults oncampus and in the student population.

Instruct students according to the teacher's lesson plan, making your own plan whenthere is none. Help facilitate school activities and educational programs, communicatewith students to help them learn and overcome challenges. Coordinate with schoolstaff to be most useful wherever necessary

Provide pre-event set up services, as well as post event tear down to provide the best experience forevent coordinators and participants. Perform routine maintenance on facilities. Creating a welcoming, healthy environment for Freshman residents to enter andflourish in college. Provide support and advice for residents, resolve conflicts andindividual struggles to aid in creating the most positive experience possible. Helpstudents find resources and community in order to thrive academically and socially.
