*PORFOLIO*https://www.chasevaughn.me/TLDR: Product Researcher and Designer, looking to take my 5+ years of experience in other industries and use it to bring a fresh perspective to the Product market.My drive for Product Design didn’t come immediately but after many experiences and changes in my life.Music has been my passion since the first day of Middle School when I hit a drum for the first time. Instantly, I wanted this to be the main thing in my life and I worked hard. Sometimes a little too hard and towards the end of High School I burned myself out and began learning things in other areas of interest. These included graphic design, writing and mathematics.After starting at Florida State University in Fine Art I realized that art without a purpose was not something I was interested in. Thankfully I heard about the Audio Engineering program my school had and within 3 months I was transitioning back to music. I figured if performing can’t fully sustain me then I can help others create their music in addition to performing. During my time in University the industry was changing but I was unaware until COVID. The Spring of 2020 I was in my final physical semester at FSU as I was already preparing my move to the Big Apple when everything changed. Fast forward to 2021 and you’ll find me working a full time job helping people with their tech issues while bouncing around between any studio that would have me as we all were trying to navigate a new music industry that had much less need for engineers. But then, I met a girl.After a few months of dating and balancing my personal life, my full time job and what became increasingly disappointing internships I realized I didn’t want to do this anymore. I needed something stable where I was going to be putting my mind to work again. After a few months of research and trying out different career options I came across UX Design. A beautiful mixture of logic and problem solving next to creative design and helping users. I finally found what I wanted to do.
