As a data scientist, I work closely with my team to collect, clean, and piece together data; this allows us to formulate predictive models for insurance use. I utilize Python, SAS, SQL, and Emblem by Towers Watson to prepare data and create predictive models.As a member of the Global Analytics division, collaboration and communication with off-shore colleagues is required to obtain data and ensure our work fits their business needs.

As an actuarial intern I worked on reconciling auto insurance data from multiple sources using SQL and SAS.Under guidance of a mentor I gained a higher understanding of predictive modeling and methods to effectively create statistical models. As a capstone event I presented my learning and work to a panel of managers within the company.

Working closely with the professor I assisted in classroom set up, grading papers, and tutoring students in statistics.Twice a week I led three classes of 30 to 45 students in statistical discussions and review. This required a knowledge of the coursework and the ability to explain solutions to various statistical problems.

As a Circulation Assistant I aided in several operations that ensure the daily function of the library. This included: maintaining an understanding essential library information to answer students' general questions, a knowledge of the library of congress classification system to accurately keep track of books, and proper care while re-shelving books. Duties changed day to day and often miscellaneous projects arose which required quick learning and flexibility.

As a Satisfaction Research Associate, I collected data from clients and employees of various home health providers. This information was collected through direct phone calls and used to rate the overall quality of the varying home health providers. Understanding and sensitivity to the needs of the clients was essential in collecting accurate and useful information.

At a leading utility billing and management company I started work as an e-bill account manager. This included regular maintenance of online utility accounts ensuring that information was accurate and functioning properly. Advancing to the role of Solution Specialist I worked on a variety of company projects, consisting of updating in house client information and reaching out to property managers across the country to ensure adherence to utility usage laws.
