After exhausting my eligibility at UIS, I was brought onto the coaching staff under then head coach Ben Wierzba. During the 2013-14 season, I aided Coach Wierzba in all aspects of the program including guard development and organizing all the team's travel arrangements. I also assisted in coordinating community outreach programs, contributing to practice and game strategy, and monitoring academic progress.Responsibilities:- Developed itineraries for our team's travel including negotiating lodging rates and organizing team meals. - Analyzed player performance and developed individual workout programs. - Spoke to local elementary schools on behalf of the program.- Scouted opponents and assisted in developing practice plans and game strategies. - In charge of our players' academic progress and monitored our team's study halls. I was also involved with the recruiting process. As a student assistant, I was not allowed to make contact with potential recruits, their parents or coaches. As part of the coaching staff, however, Coach Wierzba accepted my input during our analysis of potential recruit's performances.
