Implemented 13 cost saving features for the Integration and Test Laser Control System Software to save approximately 400 hours on the build of a 300kW class laser system to lower cost and accelerate schedule by 10 weeks. Was the sole software developer tasked with project management (through GitLab), elicitation of areas for improvement (recurring meetings demonstrating functionality), as well as feature development, test, and integration.Led software effort on team of 2 responsible for the design, development, test, and integration of software with a $8MM dollar prototype thermal management system for use in a tactical fighter jet developed on National Instruments hardware and LabVIEW. Designed to run headless with approximately 70 Sensors / Actuators, allows for remote control and configuration via RPC’s, and reports status to any Subscriber systems.

• Worked hands-on during all phases of a program life cycle including research, proposal, design verification, production, and in-field support on multiple government funded laser programs.• Designed, constructed, and qualified prototype a cryogenic MWIR pulsed laser. Optical and cavity design was completed in LASCAD; breadboard design has been tested, currently undergoing maturation from engineering to production unit.• Completed Design Verification Testing of narrowband, kW class, MOPA fiber laser module. Characterized non-linear limitations and implemented mitigating design improvements.• Replicated experiments outlined in literature for spatially and spectrally resolving modal content of Large Mode Area Fibers. Including development of LabVIEW code to control instruments and collect data (TEC, Camera, photodiodes, Oscilloscope, OSA, and power supplies) with FFT image processing in MATLAB. This included collaboration with Manufacturing to ensure semi-automated use in a production environment. • Significant laser lab experience including diagnostic setups (Power in Bucket, M², Fabry Perot, pulse width, thermal lensing, PER) as well as post processing analysis; Component characterization and qualification (splice development, Wavelength/Polarization dependent IL), in addition to environmental qualification of laser systems (vibration, thermal cycling).
