Constructed an autonomous underwater vehicle platform for use by diverse groups to deploy for research or data collection. Fabricated the platform using an oxy-acetylene torch to cut the components from steel, then used a M.I.G. welder and other shop tools to assemble the finished platform. Developed a locomotion system consisting of three DC motors (used to provide forward and reverse movement as well as pitch correction) and a ballast system (used for diving and surfacing).
